# Table Pluck > Turns the tables on a web page into clean data files. Paste a copied web page selection, a whole page or its HTML source, or open a saved .html file, and Table Pluck finds every table and lets you download it as CSV, TSV, Excel (.xlsx), Markdown or JSON. Free: no AI model, no credits, no sign-in. Runs entirely in the browser; nothing is uploaded and no URL is fetched. ## What it does - Input: HTML from the clipboard (browsers copy a page selection as HTML), pasted HTML source, a dropped or chosen .html/.htm file, tab-separated spreadsheet cells, or a Markdown pipe table. - Finds every , including tables nested inside other tables (listed separately, marked "inside ..."). Page-layout tables and one-row strips are hidden until "Show all". - Merged cells: colspan and rowspan (including rowspan="0") are expanded so every row stands alone; or "first cell only" leaves the covered slots blank. - Headers: leading rows or all-
rows are header rows; several header rows are folded into one name per column ("Budget / 2025"). The count can be changed; duplicate names get " (2)". - Footnote marks are removed: superscript references ([1], [a], *, dagger), Wikipedia-style reference links and trailing [1] / [citation needed] text. Hidden sort keys are ignored. km2 becomes km². - Numbers: a column is numeric when at least 80% of its filled cells parse. Handles 1,234.56 and 1.234,56 (detected per column), space and apostrophe thousands, currency symbols and codes ($, EUR, GBP, JPY, INR and more), percent, (negatives), unicode minus, "c." and "~" approximations, and million / bn / tn scales. Units move into the column name, e.g. "Budget ($)". Percent stays in percent units. Dashes and n/a become empty. Values with leading zeros keep the column as text. Values that do not parse stay as written. - Per table: rename, rename or drop columns, keep any column as text, optional link URL columns, drop empty rows, drop header rows repeated inside the body. - Output: CSV (comma, or semicolon with decimal comma; optional UTF-8 BOM for Excel), TSV, Excel .xlsx (bold frozen header, filter, numbers as numbers), Markdown (numbers right-aligned), JSON (array of objects), copy-for-spreadsheet. Text starting with =, +, - or @ gets a leading apostrophe in CSV/TSV so a spreadsheet does not run it as a formula; whole numbers too long to store exactly (long IDs) stay text so no digits are lost. Several tables at once: one workbook with a sheet per table, a ZIP of CSV files, or one Markdown file. ## Links - App: https://table-pluck.skillsafe.ai/
